Cockroaches are one of the most common household pests in Egypt, especially as kitchens and bathrooms warm up and hold moisture. Roaches are drawn to three things above all: exposed food, standing water, and warm, dark hiding spots behind fridges or under sinks.
Start by sealing cracks and gaps around pipes and behind cabinets — that's how most roaches actually get in. Store food in airtight containers, take out the trash daily, and wipe up crumbs and spills right away.
From there, place gel bait in corners and behind appliances. Roaches carry the bait back to the nest before dying, which wipes out the colony rather than just the individual you see. You can follow up with a residual insecticide spray along baseboards and behind fixed furniture — ventilate the area well and keep children and pets away during and right after application.
